Design Inspiration for Manufactured Home Owners

1. Mobile Home Living

This renovated 1991 Fleetwood doublewide is a great example of the results achieved by homeowners featured on Mobile Home Living.

Crystal Adkins of Souther West Virginia writes that she created of Mobile Home Living “to be a place where we can all be proud of our homes, share helpful tips and advice on manufactured housing, and support each other with positivity and love.”

Her posts are relevant to manufactured home owners, whether the homes are vintage or new. She launch Mobile Home Living shortly after her family bought a 1978 single wide in 2011. After searching online for examples of manufactured  home renovations and remodels, and finding little, she saw a void and decided to fill it.

“I think it’s important that manufactured homes be seen in a positive light,” she writes. “Manufactured housing is one of the nation’s most affordable housing options and they’ve given me a place to call home for 40 years!”

2. My Mobile Home Makeover

Darren and Beth have lived in their double-wide mobile home since 1995 and have gone through their share of renovations to bring their home up to modern code.

To connect with other and share ideas, they created My Mobile Home Makeover, which has dozen of remodelling and renovating ideas.

“Several years ago, we looked around our home and tossed around the idea of buying/building a new stick built home,” they write on their website. “We researched the process, searched for homes, and came to a different conclusion. We live in a perfectly good home that has developed landscaping and all the things we love right here. For less than 1/10th the cost, we could renovate our home and make it more structurally sound and more aesthetically pleasing, while updating and making it more energy efficient every step of the way.
